Spoiler warning: this page walks through the full story of Stick War: Legacy’s campaign, including its ending. If you want to discover the narrative yourself, play the campaign first.
Stick War: Legacy retells the story of the original Stick War: the Order Empire, a small nation that follows the way of peace and knowledge, is surrounded by neighbors who worship their weapons as gods. After constant harassment, Order decides to strike first. Its armies march across Inamorta, conquering the Swordwrath, the Archidons, the Speartons and the Magikill, absorbing each nation’s technology — until Order stands as the empire that unified the land.
The campaign takes place in Inamorta, the world introduced in the game’s opening narration: a land of rival nations, each devoted to its own weapon and convinced its way of war is the only way. Order holds one of the smallest territories, on the eastern edge of the region. For the wider world and its factions, see the story hub.
Order does not start the war out of ambition. Its people follow the way of peace and knowledge and do not worship weapons — which, in Inamorta, makes them a target. Neighboring nations harass and infiltrate them. The campaign frames Order’s conquest as survival: attack first, take the enemy’s technology, and end the threat before it ends Order. What begins as defense becomes a march across the whole continent.
The campaign opens with the game’s famous narration, describing a world of nations “obsessed to the point of worship, turning weapons to religion.” The player commands Order’s first forces — miners and basic soldiers — as they march toward the lands of the Archidons, the closest threat. The opening missions teach the core loop of mining gold, training units and pushing the enemy line, all inside the story of Order’s first campaign.
The Swordwrath are the sword-following nation — aggressive melee fighters who close distance quickly and overwhelm with numbers. In the story they are among the first peoples Order confronts on the march. Their blades are absorbed into Order’s army after their homeland falls, giving Order its first real melee unit. For gameplay details see the Swordwrath unit page.
The Archidons follow the way of the bow. Archers by culture, they keep their enemies at range and punish armies that cross open ground. Order’s conquest of the Archidons brings archery into the imperial forces. See the Archidon unit page for their combat role.
The Speartons are the spear-and-shield nation: disciplined, armored and built for holding a line. Their culture treats the spear and shield as sacred, and their soldiers are among the toughest Order faces. After their defeat they become one of Order’s strongest frontline units. More on the Spearton unit page.
The Magikill follow the way of the mage. Magic-users who can summon minions and strike from range, they are the most feared nation in Inamorta — and the last great power Order conquers in the first campaign. Their sorcery enters Order’s arsenal and shapes later battles. See the Magikill unit page.
Beyond the weapon nations, Order’s march reaches No Man’s Land and the giants — towering natives who dwarf anything in Order’s army. The campaign frames them as the final great obstacle: even the giants fall before Order’s numbers, and many are enslaved to serve the empire. This act plants the seed of the later Chaos conflict. The Giant unit page covers their role in battle.
The campaign ends where the original game ended: with Order breaking the last resistance of the conquered nations and claiming Inamorta. The final stages throw the remnants of every defeated nation against Order at once, testing everything the player has learned. Victory means unification — Inamorta belongs to Order.
Stick War: Legacy’s campaign ends with Order victorious and Inamorta under its control. The story deliberately closes on the same note as the original Stick War, since Legacy is a remake rather than a sequel. The war that follows — the rebellion and the rise of Chaos — is told in Stick War II: Order Empire and later entries, not in this campaign.
In story order, Stick War: Legacy replays the events of the first game: Order’s conquest of Inamorta. It sits at the start of the series timeline — before the rebellion of Stick War II and the Chaos war that follows. Players who finish Legacy and want the next chapter should look to Stick War II: Order Empire. See the complete timeline for where everything fits.
