Every major event in the Stick War story in chronological order — from the weapon-worshipping nations of early Inamorta to Order’s conquest, the Chaos war and the later series entries.
Stick War never states exact years for its story events, so the timeline below uses the order the games themselves establish: the rise of the weapon nations, Order’s conquest of Inamorta, the rebellion that followed, and the war against Chaos. Release years of the real-world games are included where they help, but in-story dates are left relative rather than invented.
Before the wars of the games, Inamorta is a land of rival nations, each devoted to its own weapon and way of fighting. As the opening narration of the original Stick War puts it, each nation becomes “obsessed to the point of worship, turning weapons to religion.” The Swordwrath follow the sword, the Archidons the bow, the Speartons the spear and shield, and the Magikill magic. Each believes its way is the only way — and each is willing to spread that belief through war.
In this early period the weapon nations dominate the playable south-east of Inamorta. The Order Empire exists alongside them, but it does not fit the pattern: Order follows the way of peace and knowledge and refuses to worship weapons as gods. That makes it look weak to its neighbors — a target for infiltration rather than a serious power. Order’s territory is one of the smallest on the continent.
Facing constant harassment from the weapon nations, Order concludes that its only defense is to attack first. Under its leadership, Order goes to war to take the technology of each nation and turn it against the others. What begins as a survival campaign becomes a conquest of the whole region. In the modern era of the series, Order is an empire ruled by King Zarek — see the story hub and the empires guide for both sides of the conflict.
The first game (released in 2009) plays out Order’s original conquest. Order marches into the lands of its neighbors one by one: first the Archidons, whose archers fall to Order’s numbers; then the Swordwrath, whose blades meet a stronger economy and line; then the Speartons and the Magikill, whose magic and minions are eventually overwhelmed. Each conquered nation’s technology is absorbed into Order’s own army.
The campaign’s later stages push Order beyond the weapon nations. In No Man’s Land, Order meets the giants — towering natives of a volcanic wasteland who are far stronger than anything faced so far. Order defeats them and enslaves many to serve in its own army. The final stage of the original campaign unites the remnants of the conquered nations against Order at the Ice Hills; Order wins and claims Inamorta.
Stick War II: Order Empire (2012) opens years after the conquest. The nations Order conquered have been pushed to the outskirts of their own homelands, and they rise against imperial rule. Their opening words — “Our people have been slaughtered! Our homes lie ruined… The nation called Order has brought nothing but chaos to our people!” — frame the rebellion as a fight for survival. Led by the Rebel Magikill, the Archidons, Swordwrath, Speartons and Magikill unite to take their lands back.
As Order fights the rebellion, a darker threat is gathering in the north. The Chaos Empire rises under Medusa, a medusa monarch whose power includes petrifying enemies. Chaos declares war on Order after Order enslaves the giants — creatures Medusa considers her own people. Facing an enemy that threatens everyone, Order and the United Rebels form one nation to defeat Chaos. Medusa is beheaded, ending her reign.
Stick War: Legacy (released 2016) is a remake of the original game rather than a sequel. Its campaign retells Order’s first conquest of Inamorta with more missions, units and upgrades, and its opening narration mirrors the original. The later parts of the series’ story — the rebellion and the Chaos war — are told in Stick War II and the entries that follow it.
After the fall of Chaos, the series continues to expand the world. Stick Empires and later installments introduce new units, leaders and campaigns, while the world of Inamorta grows beyond the region shown in the first game. These entries are set after the events of the original conquest and add their own conflicts to the Order-versus-Chaos struggle.
The canon backbone is: the weapon nations exist in Inamorta and worship their weapons; Order follows peace and knowledge, refuses that worship, and conquers the weapon nations to survive; the conquest reaches the giants of No Man’s Land; the conquered nations later rebel; Chaos rises under Medusa and is defeated by Order and the rebels together. These beats come from the games themselves — their opening narrations, dialogue and campaigns.
Some parts of the story are less fixed. The exact length of time between the conquest and the rebellion is never stated. Individual leader names and their roles vary between entries, and community sources sometimes add events, dates or family relationships that do not appear in the games. Where the games are silent, this timeline stays silent too.
Fan-made timelines sometimes assign specific years or invent wars, empires or dynasties to fill gaps. Those are community creations, not canon. The timeline above deliberately uses only what the games establish, in the order the games establish it.
